Women. This single word is the complete definition of a human with superpowers. The superpowers, neither the physical nor the magical, but the mental and emotional power. The powers which are underrated and suppressed. Furthermore, there are some misconceptions between feminism and misandry.
Women. She. Her. These words are interpreted as the weaker parts, but what’s the reality. Ahilyabai Holkar, Sarojini Naidu, Indira Gandhi, Kalpana Chawla, PV Sindhu, Sania Mirza, Mary Kom, Sania Nehwal and the list continues of the names which makes themselves stand out of the crowd. These are also the women who show their strengths in the fields from ruling to playing sports and from spreading mass movements to go into space; and what not.
Elaborating on the misconception; i.e. feminism is often related with misandry. Feminism means that all the genders have equal rights and opportunities, but it misunderstood as it gives more opportunities to women and somewhere disgrace the male genders. So, the reality is simple that feminism is meant to give equal rights and opportunities to all the genders in the society. Now, the perception was that it is related to misandry; disliking males. As of now, it’s cleared that they are two different routes.
Women are the masters of two worlds. Really? Yes. The little angles grew up, lives the life influenced by her parents, creating a whole world. After marriage, the world suddenly changes and the force of influence changes from her parents to the husband and in-laws. This sudden change seems too simple, but actually, it is not. The complexity is the mindset which gets adapted by the women. This is what the superpower is. This is the mental and emotional power which the women possess. But all this doesn’t settle down with the change. The marriage is the game changer. The roles and responsibilities are the after effects of the marriage for the couples, and especially for the women. The responsibilities of the children are the big mountains for both the males and females. As of current scenario, women solely play this part with the great ease as if they were taught about this from the beginning of their lives. Somewhat magical. Women kills the dreams of their world just to adjust with the world created by her parents, husband, in-laws and later on by her children. Tough.
8th of March. The date is celebrated as the International Women’s Day, but one day is not enough. These were my words to conclude this. Ending with the mighty word, “women”.
